Book 3

Book 3

A third book has been written but has yet to be proofread. All being well, this title will be available in 2024. Its first chapter begins with a treasured Savay brace before leading on to fishing for the formidable stock of carp that reside in Wellington Country Park. There then follows a personal account of running several syndicate fisheries for the British Carp Angler, as well as shorter subjects including the tricky ‘days only’ angling on Dinton Pastures, the possibilities within the ‘January Window’, and the golden opportunity to visit Redmire Pool. The largest chapter by far is the author’s thirty-year account of establishing a gravel pit fishery; this venue, unbeknown to him, was to become the best ticket he could ever own, whereas the following chapter is dedicated to the story of the opposition to the HS2 project, which was given the green light in 2020, causing utter dismay and destruction for those passionate about the landscape affected along the length of the line – the only remedy was found to be acceptance, which now becomes the ongoing tale for those historic lakes in the Colne Valley.
